To help verify your Veteran Status you may be required to show a Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC), DD214, login with ID.me, Disabled American Veteran (DAV) ID, retiree DoD ID, printout from VA.gov which states your Veteran status, etc.
The VA no longer issues a physical card which states you are a Veteran, purely to show that you are one.
